Anyone who's familiar with my blogging knows that while I try to stick to a schedule, I also have a policy of absolutely no refunds.

Anyway, here's what we've been up to for the past week1.

On Wednesday we went shopping for some basic supplies.  Getting a local SIM (+1 404 984 8399, it's temporary, I don't care if it's published), some cold winter gear for Yellowstone, a sleeping mat, things of that ilk.

Thursday we hit the road proper, leaving Georgia northwest towards Tennessee, stopping near Paducah for the night, followed by an early start to reach Cairo, Illinois before sun-rise the next morning.

Cairo is more or less an abandoned town.  Lots of empty lots, as buildings have fallen down, and the rubble removed.  It sits on the banks of the Ohio and Mississippi rivers, although we only looked at Ohio.

Choo choo

There's a video of the sun rising over the river, but I still need to figure out how to embed videos on here.

Here's a still, instead.  You can even see the timelapse camera.

That's it for now.  Maybe more tomorrow.

1 for some definition of week.
